Amy Winehouse Arrested

Troubled British singer Amy Winehouse has been arrested for an alleged assault.

In the wee hours of April 23, the Grammy-winning “Rehab” singer allegedly headbutted a man outside a London pub. She voluntarily reported to a London police station on Friday to answer questions, and was arrested.

“I can confirm that a 24-year-old woman has been arrested by appointment at a central London police station and is currently in custody,” a Scotland Yard spokesman said.

It is a policy in England to arrest a suspect before questioning her in connection to a possible crime. Winehouse has not been charged with anything.

A 38-year-old man filed a report stating he was “headbutted” by Winehouse after trying to hail her a cab at 3:20 a.m. on April 23. According to a detailed account in the British paper The Sun, she also allegedly punched another man in the face and smoked drugs on the street.

The article was accompanied by a sequence of photos, including one of Winehouse walking into a lamppost.

Winehouse – who spent time in rehab in January and won five Grammys in February – was arrested just hours after her incarcerated husband, Blake Fielder-Civil, 25, appeared in court on charges of witness tampering. Winehouse did not attend.

Producer Pal Says Jake Really Loves Reese

Just how serious is Jake Gyllenhaal and Reese Witherspoon’s relationship?

“I just think he loves her,” Gyllenhaal’s producer pal Ryan Kavanaugh said at the 23rd Annual “Salute to Youth” dinner in Los Angeles on Thursday.

Kavanaugh produced the actor’s upcoming film, Brothers, which he calls a “passion project.”

“[Jake] has obviously had his fair share of dating,” Kavanaugh says of Gyllenhaal’s romantic life. “I think eventually you come to a place where you know what you want and seeing what we saw on the set, he was certainly completely devoted to her and really loves her.”

Over the course of the film, the producer really got to know Gyllenhaal, 27. “He’s awesome,” says Kavanaugh. “He’s a true artist and a really good guy. We used to workout every morning before going on the set so he became a good friend, too.”

Tom Cruise On Oprah Round Two!!

Oh lordy nearly three years after his couch jumping antics it’s been reported today that Tom Cruise is yet again scheduled to return to The Oprah Winfrey Show and as if one appearance from Tom wasn’t bad enough we hear it will be a two-part special!! The first will be an interview with cringeable Cruise at his home where he is expected to talk about his ‘family, his life and future’. Then the second part will be filmed in Oprah’s Chicago studio and will feature friends and colleagues surprising Cruise with messages honouring his work in movies. Pass the sick bucket please…

Hilary Duff Approached for 90210 Role

Hilary Duff has been approached to play a role in the upcoming Beverly Hills, 90210 spinoff on the CW network, a source close to the project says.

The singer-actress has been given a script to read the role of Annie, the principal’s daughter at Beverly Hills High.

Duff, 20, is currently appearing in the indie film War, Inc. with John Cusack, which is premiering at the Tribeca Film Festival in New York.

E! Online first reported the news.

If Duff ends up taking the role on 90210, she would join Dustin Milligan and Nip/Tuck’s AnnaLynne McCord, who have already joined the growing cast.

Madonna Releases Her New Album Early

Madonna debuted her new album Hard Candy Friday on MySpace – four days before the album’s official release date.

The hip-hop laced album has 12 tracks, including collaborations with Timbaland, Justin Timberlake and Pharrell Williams. The album-closer, for example, “Voices,” features production by Timberlake, Timbaland and Nate “Danjahandz” Hills. The song builds to a dark, cinematic crescendo, as the album ends with one lone tone.

Kanye West also offers a fast-paced rap on “Beat Goes On,” the eighth track, breathlessly rapping, “I think I’m going to try something new.”

Madonna’s decision to release her eleventh studio album for Warner Bros. Records on MySpace before it lands in stores, follows similar moves by Nine Inch Nails, Black Eyed Peas, Outkast and 50 Cent, who also premiered their albums on MySpace.
