Lori Loughlin Joins Cast of Beverly Hills 90210 Spinoff

It’s getting to be a full house at Beverly Hills, 90210, as another cast member for the CW’s spinoff is revealed.

Its been confirmed that Lori Loughlin (Full House, Summerland) is slated to play Celia Mills, wife of Beverly Hills High’s new principal, and mother to Annie, a role that Hilary Duff was reportedly approached to play.

TV Guide first reported the news.

She’ll also join two younger costars, Dustin Milligan and Nip/Tuck’s AnnaLynne McCord on the show.

Cheryl Cole Voted Britain’s Top WAG!

Cheryl Cole is one hot lady! Actually these recent snaps would suggest otherwise but we’ll pretend we didn’t notice. Despite her scarily skinny frame lesbians voting in an online poll have named the Girls Aloud beauty Britain’s top WAG! Cheryl bagged a whopping 43% of the overall votes beating the likes of Alex Curran who came second and Posh Spice who crept in at third. We guess if things don’t work out with Ashley it’s always nice to know Cheryl has other options.

SNL Star Cheri Oteri’s Dad Murdered

The father of former SNL cast member Cheri Oteri was stabbed to death on Saturday in Nashville, Tenn.

Authorities have arrested and charged country songwriter Richard Fagan, 61, with criminal homicide in the death of Gaetano Thomas Oteri, 69, the Associated Press reports.

Oteri, known as “Tom,” was Fagan’s roommate as well as his longtime music associate and publisher. According to the local NewsChannel 5, the incident took place at Fagan’s home in South Nashville on Saturday night.

The Tennessean newspaper reports that Fagan was arrested Saturday night for a DUI. The songwriter told police that a fight had occurred around 9 p.m. between the two men, and that Fagan used a Colt pocket knife to cut Oteri across his body before leaving the scene, according to affidavits. Oteri’s body was discovered by a friend on Sunday afternoon.

Fagan wrote the No. 1 songs “Be My Baby Tonight” and “Sold (The Grundy County Auction Incident)” for John Michael Montgomery.

Authorities have said that said Cheri Oteri, who most recently filmed a role in the Jessica Simpson movie Major Movie Star, is aware of her father’s death. A rep for Oteri had no comment.

Mariah Carey & Nick Cannon Stir Engagement Rumors

Wearing a humongous, gleaming ring on her left hand, Mariah Carey stayed close to Nick Cannon at the afterparty for her new film, Tennessee, on Saturday night.

The pair held hands at the bash at Cadillac Lounge at Tenjune, which followed the movie’s premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival. The two also looked cozy in Vegas on April 14. When asked about a possible engagement, Cannon’s rep had no comment; Carey’s was unable to be reached for comment.

Asked what he loved about Carey, Cannon, 27, says: “Everything.” He was at her side from 8 p.m. to about 10:45 p.m. in Tenjune’s VIP room, where they were joined by her BFF, Da Brat. Zoe Kravitz and Ben Kingsley also stopped by.

Meanwhile, before the premiere, Carey played it coy, saying she only has eyes for one male: Jack, her Jack Russell terrier.

“I’m in love with my dog,” said the singer, 39. “He is my special someone. I love spending time with him.”

Even when love hurts her adoration stays strong: Carey wore a pink Hello Kitty band-aid on her hand at the premiere, explaining that Jack “accidentally bit me.”

In her new film, she plays Krystal, a troubled diner waitress and aspiring singer who tackles personal demons on a road trip to Tennessee.

“This is something very close to my heart,” she said of her first major role since the 2001 bomb Glitter. “I’m very grateful to be here tonight. Some people come into our lives and take a chance, someone like Lee Daniels,” who produced Tennessee.

“I feel that everything happens for a reason,” says Carey.

Katie Price Vamps It Up..

Reality TV star? Check! Model? Check? Singer? Check! There’s not many things Jordan hasn’t attempted during her short yet varied career so it was only a matter of time before she turned her hand to acting and no, that brief appearance on Footballers Wives doesn’t count!

As Katie and Peter prepared to jet back to the UK our well placed source has informed us Jordan is being lined up to play the role of Elvira in remake of the 1988 Hollywood flick Elvira: Mistress of the Dark:

‘Cassandra Peterson (the original Elvira) has been in talks about a remake for some time but didn’t want to take on the role again. Everyone was at a loss until they spotted Jordan on a gossip website.’

After hearing she has a ‘penchant for one-liners’ the films producers were more convinced then ever that she’d be perfect although there may be one or two little obstacles to overcome before the part is officially hers. First and foremost Katie will have to master an American accent which we’re sure shouldn’t be too challenging but and it’s a big but, she’ll have to lose the tan!!

Wino’s Parents Confirm New Romance..

News over the weekend claiming Amy Winehouse has called time on her marriage came as such a shock that it left many fans questioning the accuracy of the reports. But fear not, after all who needs a spokesperson when you’ve got parents like hers!? The troubled singers father yesterday confirmed Amy’s new relationship:

‘It’s unbelievable. He’s tall, but he’s like a little boy. I am shocked. His job was to look after Amy. I asked him to stay with Amy while she was recording at Henley. This was not part of the job! I don’t like infidelity.’

He doesn’t like infidelity? Pot? Kettle?? Oh well, it wasn’t all doom and gloom, her mother Janis also had something to say on the matter and she wasn’t quite so negative:

‘I’d spoken to Alex a couple of times over the phone, but this was the first time I’d actually met him. He’s a lovely boy – gentle and sweet. He works for her manager so their relationship was professional to begin with but if they’ve made something of it, I’m thrilled.’

So daddy’s pissed and mummy’s ‘thrilled’ but what we really want to know is what her fans think so over to you….

MTV Awards Australia…

A lovely looking Leona Lewis along with Mischa Barton and 50 Cent were just a few of the familiar faces at NSW in Sydney for the Australian MTV Awards this weekend. The biggest winner of the night was erm, Delta Goodrem who took home the award for the Video of the Year for her song Believe Again, which of course is a fantastic track and has nothing to do with her Aussie roots but…

our favourite story from the event has to be the ‘Mile High Gig,’ which took place on an Air New Zealand flight carrying musicians, industry insiders and a few lucky fans to Sydney for the awards. Dizzee Rascal took to the aisles to perform the in-flight concert and we hear he went down a storm as the DJs pumped out the music on turntables set up in first class. Now that’s what we call travelling in style!!
