Jennifer Hudson Picks Up A Gig To Perform “Special Duet”

2008 ended on a rough note for Jennifer Hudson, with the tragic murder of her mother, brother, and nephew. But 2009 seems to be on an upswing, with the singer’s big return to the spotlight.

In addition to a string of Grammy-related events, Jennifer is set to perform at a Recording Academy party honoring Clive Davis tonight.

Whitney Houston and the Kings of Leon are also on the bill for the evening.

And according to Davis himself, Hudson will be performing a surprise duet “that people won’t see elsewhere.”

The first book of the series was originally published in 1993.

The books revolve around a young lady who is torn between two vampire brothers, one good and the other evil.

The brothers battle for her soul, and the souls of her small town friends and family.

A publicist for Subway has refuted claims that Michael Phelps has been dropped as a Subway spokeswhore.

“Like most Americans, and like Michael Phelps himself, we were disappointed in his behavior. Also like most Americans, we accept his apology. Moving forward, he remains in our plans,” said the sandwich maker’s mouth piece.

Coming up on the heels of Blink-182’s announcement that they’ll be reuniting to present an award at Sunday night’s Grammy Awards, details of a new Blink-182 record are slowly leaking out!

David Kennedy, guitarist for Blink member Tom DeLonge’s side project, Angels & Airwaves, confirmed the band’s future plans on an A&A’s message board Thursday night.

Kennedy let fans know “Blink is coming back… [they're] putting out a record.”

Siegfried & Roy To Return – Yes, With Their Tigers

After a miraculous recovery by Roy, he and his former lover are teaming back up professionally as Siegfried & Roy and planning on making a one-time return to performing – on March 6th in Las Vegas. Tigers and everything.

Portions of the proceeds from their one and only comeback performance will benefit the Lou Ruvo Brain Institute. The institute is a study and treatment center for neurological diseases like Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s disease, and Huntington’s disease.

About 5 years ago Roy Horn was attacked by one of the duo’s beloved white tigers and the show went dark. Since then, Roy’s worked to recover mobility, speech, and trust in the animals he loves so much.

The show, Siegfried & Roy: The Magic Returns, will be broadcast as a special edition of 20/20.

Daytime’s First Gay Wedding Comes To ABC!

Just because Prop 8 passed in California doesn’t mean it has any effect on Pine Valley!

ABC’s All My Children is planning to walk down the aisle on February 13th and 16th with a wedding to remember, the first gay nuptials in daytime television’s history!

The marriage will be between lesbian couple Bianca Montgomery (Eden Riegel) and Reese Williams (Tamara Braun), and they promise to bring the on-screen affection.

After the ban on kissing between As The World Turns‘ gay couple, Luke and Noah, Riegel reassures AMC’s audience the relationship will remain true to life: “There’s no holding back in the physical realm. We’ve never been told to hold back. ABC is allowing us to trust our instincts.”

We can’t wait for the girl-on-girl action that’s to come!

Renee Gets Fat Again – For A Day

Harvard University’s Hasty Pudding Theatricals has just named Renee Zellwegeras their Woman of the Year.

And to celebrate, LemonFace attended the parade in her honor yesterday through the streets of Harvard Square for the Hasty Pudding Awards annual Woman of the Year Parade.

Previous winners include Halle Berry, Charlize Theron, Katharine Hepburn, and Meryl Streep.

The award honors those performers who have made a lasting contribution to the entertainment world.

The 39-year-old actress even wore a fat suit as a tribute to her film Bridget Jones’ Diary.

During the ceremony Renee said, “This is the nicest doorstop I’ve ever had. I have always had great faith that no matter the state of the union, that America’s future was sound so long as Harvard continued to deliver us her brightest and best. And after what I have experienced and witnessed today, I can tell you that I’m going to really have to re-think all that.”

The Man of the Year award next week will be given to James Franco.

As for Renee, she at least looked semi-nice during the ceremony.
